Mike Miller Memorial Fund
Michael Bauer Miller, age 45, died peacefully at home on Thursday, September 9, 2021 surrounded by his family. Mike survived childhood cancer and recently battled a four-year fight with colon cancer. He was an inspiration to so many people who were amazed at how he stayed positive and maintained a never give up attitude as he faced cancer related medical challenges throughout his life.
Mike had a passion for supporting families navigating the challenges of childhood cancer. He was involved with Charlotte based Camp C.A.R.E. (Cancer Ain’t Really the End) an organization that provides a week of camp and other year-round activities for children with cancer. He started as a camper at age 10, served as a camp counselor for over 20 years and ultimately served as the volunteer Chairman of the Board of Directors for many years before his passing.
Mike wanted to ensure that Camp CARE would be around for any future children that needed a place to come and feel the joy of just being a kid and build friendships with other kids who have been through similar medical situations. The Mike Miller Memorial fund was set up to grow and ensure that Camp CARE isn’t going anywhere!
