Kenna has been a part of Camp CARE for 13 years, starting as a camper at age 11. She’s been a leader-in-training and a counselor and has also hosted fundraisers to support Camp CARE. When she’s not having a ball at camp, she works at Carolinas Medical Center in the physical and occupational therapy department. She’s beginning physician assistant school in August and may be working with pediatric oncology patients someday!
Why Camp CARE is a special place
Kenna looks forward to camp each year, and she enjoys and appreciates spending time with other campers who are going through some of the same things that she went through as a child. She continues to be involved because she wants each camper to be able to have the same experience she did and love camp for a lifetime, just like her!
One of her favorite Camp CARE memories was when one of her campers learned to swim during the week of camp. Some girls in her cabin worked on it with her every day, and by Friday she was swimming and so proud of her accomplishment.
Bet you didn’t know that…
…she has two cats and they are BOTH named Tigger. Both are rescues.
…Kenna loves to travel, explore new places and read books by the pool.
…she knows the words to tons of songs! Kenna loves to sing, but claims she’s terrible at it. (And says her family and friends can attest to it, too!)
…after high school graduation, Kenna and four of her friends took a 13-hour train ride from Charlotte to New York and stayed for a week, exploring the city and having a blast.
…she’s a big North Carolina State Wolfpack fan and loves red.
Kenna, you are a wonderful part of Camp CARE, and we appreciate your support and dedication! You rock!
